The book contains 154 images of butterflies and caterpillars on 20 individually lithograph colored plates by W. Hubert and 13 figures in the text. After an introduction to caterpillars and butterflies, an explanation of the color plates follows. The book concludes with a systematic overview of the locations of Dutch butterflies.
